Orlando Irizarry, age 71, currently of Bridgeport, Connecticut, passed away on October 5, 2026, at home while surrounded by presence and love of his family.

Born on October 30, 1954, in Utuado, Puerto Rico, Orlando was the son of Hemeregildo Irizarry and Gelvilda Irizarry. Orlando was employed by Bridgeport Fittings for many years before his retirement. Orlando was a very social man who enjoyed spending time with his friends and simply doing the routines of everyday life. He had a particular love for animals and enjoyed spending time with the animals at his farm in Storrs. A good cup of coffee and time spent watching his animals were among the things he appreciated and valued most.  

Orlando leaves to cherish his memory his children, Orlando Irizarry, Rafael Irizarry, Daniel Irizarry, and Diana Irizarry; his seven grandchildren; and his siblings, Maximo Irizarry, Delfina Irizarry, Celia Irizarry, Edelmira Irizarry, Doris Irizarry, Estrella Irizarry, Clisenia Irizarry, Alpidio Irizarry, and Ana Irizarry. He also leaves extended family members and friends who knew him throughout the years. Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, October 15, 2026, from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM, and again on Friday, October 16, 2026, from 10:00 AM - 11:00 PM at Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 East Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, Connecticut.  Interment will follow at Park Cemetery in Bridgeport, Connecticut with an approximate time of arrival of 11:45 AM.
