Pameta Atherton

Pameta Adessa Atherton, 75, returned to the loving arms of the Lord on August 30, 2022, in Bridgeport Hospital, Bridgeport, CT.  She was born in Jamaica to Dorothy Coleman.  She immigrated to the United States in 1990.  She is the beloved wife of Raphael Atherton.

Pameta was a very assertive person with all the tasks that she encountered.  In her private life she was a very low key person who appreciated quiet moments.  She was very proud of her Jamaican roots this was particularly evident in the delicious traditional meals she so lovingly prepared.  Her culinary talents will be missed by all.

Aside from her beloved husband, Pameta leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving children Rosemarie Wilson, Claudius and Janisha Atherton, Sandra Spencer, Roy Richards and Kevin Taylor; 13 precious grandchildren; her dear siblings Patrick, Blossom, Rosemary and Charles and a host of friends and relatives that will miss her dearly.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 16, 2022, from 10:30 AM - 1:30 PM at Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 East Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT.
