Raquel Garcia-Surita

July 3, 1979 — August 25, 2022

Bridgeport

Raquel Garcia Surita, age 43, of Bridgeport, passed away suddenly in her home on August 25, 2022.  Raquel was born in Caguas, Puerto Rico and is the daughter of Jose L. Garcia, Alida Rodriguez and Juadin Figueroa.  Raquel is the beloved wife of Efren Surita who was the love of her life,  inseparable since they met.  Raquel loved her family with every bit of her existence.  She had a passion for cooking and used this gift to bless others anywhere she went.  Her vivacious and energetic persona radiated wherever she shared time with others, whether at work, home, or her neighborhood.  Her culinary fans even requested to buy meals from her because they knew she would deliver.  She was a dedicated employee at Sacred Heart University in the food service department.  Raquel loved celebrating the holidays, whether by dressing formally, in costume, decorating or preparing certain treats for family and friends. Most recently, the family went to Florida and Raquel glowed in excitement knowing they were going to see her son and beautiful grandaughters. Her home was always open to others, especially many children throughout the neighborhood which knew they were always welcomed and of course, in a safe environment, with a touch of love from her kitchen! During her quiet times, she enjoyed going to the beach with her family, to take in the crashing of the waves, walking in the sand, and being at peace with nature.

In addition to her parents and husband, Raquel is survived by her sons Angel Felix, Jaden Surita, Joshua Surita and Eric Surita. Her granddaughters Ava and Avery, many siblings, and so many others that are stunned by this unexpected passing of a true gem.

Friends are invited to attend a viewing/visitation to be held at the Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 E. Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT on Sunday, September 4, 2022, from 1-5 P.M.

Final Disposition will take place at a future date at the convenience of the family.
