Reinaldo W. Hernandez

Reinaldo W. Hernandez, born on June 23, 1939, in Cidra, PR, left this world on February 12, 2024, at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend that will be deeply be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Reinaldo lived life to the fullest with a joyful and welcoming attitude that touched the hearts of those around him. His vibrant personality was marked by a playful sense of humor and forgiving nature. Reinaldo had a calming demeanor that brought comfort to those in his presence. He was known for his generosity and kind spirit that knew no bounds. In his free time, Reinaldo enjoyed various hobbies that brought him immense joy. He loved playing dominos with friends and family, finding delight in each victory and treasured moment spent together. Fishing was another passion of his; there was nothing quite like casting a line into the water and experiencing the peacefulness of nature. Reinaldo also had an affinity for breakfast; it was a beloved ritual for him to savor each morning meal with enthusiasm and appreciation. His love for life extended to joyous rides where he could relish in the simple pleasures of the open road. Reinaldo had a strong bond with his family and cherished every moment spent with them. 

He is survived by his loving wife Gladys Bernier, daughter Gladys Hernandez, sons Willie Hernandez, Alex Hernandez, Reinaldo Hernandez Junior, Gladys Soler and Aurelia Bernier, his precious great grandchildren Karter and Steven which held a very special place in his heart as well as his grandchildren, Lydia, Ashley,  AJ, Samantha, Selena, Rebecca, and Julianna.

Reinaldo's compassionate nature brought warmth to everyone he encountered. His unfaltering love for his family knew no bounds as he found fulfillment in supporting them through life's joys and challenges. Reinaldo's presence created an atmosphere of love and acceptance that made his home a haven for all who entered. Reinaldo's departure has left an undeniable void in the lives of those who loved him. However, his memory will continue to inspire and guide us as we continue to navigate life's journey. May we honor Reinaldo's legacy by embodying his kindness, generosity, and joyful spirit. He will forever hold a cherished place in our hearts. Please join us in celebrating the remarkable life of Reinaldo W. Hernandez - a man who brought laughter, love, and compassion into this world. We mourn his loss but take solace in knowing that he is now at peace, forever watching over us with a smile upon his face.

Visitation will be held at Funeraria Luz De Paz in Bridgeport, CT, on February 20, 2024, starting at 5:00 PM and concluding at 8:00 PM.  A Funeral Service will follow on February 21, 2024, also at Funeraria Luz De Paz. The service will begin at 10:00 AM and conclude at 11:00 AM.
