Rosa A. Centeno

Rosa A. Centeno, 76, returned to the loving arms of the Lord on September 22, 2022, in her home surrounded by the love of her family.  She was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico to the late Modesto Torres Santos and the late Maria Antonia Vargas Ortiz.

Rosa worked for the State of Connecticut for a number of years but her true passion was as a seamstress.  She was an accomplished seamstress who sewed all types of clothing, but was best known for the exquisite wedding dresses she made with intricate detail.  She was also a talented cook who created culinary delights at La Familia Restaurant in Bridgeport when they opened.  She loved to laugh and her laugh was contagious to all those around her.  Her greatest accomplishment was the love that she instilled in her family.  They knew that her love for them was unconditional and that they could always rely on her.  She was the glue that kept her family together.  

Rosa leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving children Juan Pacheco and his wife Ruby, Edwin Centeno and his wife Lisa, Nelson Centeno and Daniel Centeno; her adoring grandchildren Talina Richardson and her husband Eric, Caroline Cassels and her husband Lovel, Edwin Centeno and his wife Laurianna, Naila Centeno, Isaiah Centeno, Xianna Centeno, Aryana Hernandez, Danny Centeno Jr., Diarixa Centeno and Jessy Centeno;  8 precious great grandchildren and her dear siblings Marta, Ricardo, Carlos, Marcos and the late Carmen Carrigan and a host of friends and relatives that will miss her.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2022, from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM at Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 East Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT.  Interment will follow immediately after at Mt. Grove Easton Cemetery, 1 Harvester Road, Easton, CT.
