Rosa Duran Reyes, aged 92, peacefully passed away on March 19, 2024, at Bridgeport Hospital surrounded by her beloved family, joining the Lord. She was the cherished daughter of the late Pedro M. Duran and Brigida Reyes. Rosa was widely admired for her passion for a comforting cup of Spanish coffee, her impeccable taste in fashion, and her culinary talent in preparing the most delightful sancocho that brought happiness to many.
Known for her authenticity, beauty, kindness, generosity, and profound faith, Rosa was a woman who centered her life around her family, whom she loved unconditionally. Her siblings held a special place in her heart, and the time spent with them brought her immense joy. Following the passing of her late husband Rafael Hilario nearly 40 years ago, Rosa devoted herself to ensuring that her family was always well-looked-after, both materially and spiritually.
Rosa is survived by her children: Maria Luisa Hilario & husband Cirilo, Lydia M. Hilario & husband Luis, Patricia Hilario, Guillermina Hilario, Francisco Santos Hilario, Rafael Hilario & wife Belkys Sierra, Luis Hilario & wife Teranje Mendoza, and Catalina Hilario. She is also survived by her siblings: Andrea Duran, Antonio Duran, Maria Duran, Aura Duran, Lila Duran, Blanco Duran, and Negra Duran; along with 22 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and friends who will deeply miss her.
A Visitation will be conducted at Funeraria Luz De Paz, 426 East Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT on Sunday, March 24, 2024, from 4-7 PM. A Final visitation will take place on Monday, March 25, 2024, starting at 10:00 A.M. at the Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. at St. Augustine's Cathedral, followed by a burial at Mt. Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport, CT.
Rosa's legacy of love and unwavering dedication to her family will forever be treasured and honored by all who had the privilege of crossing paths with her. May she rest in eternal peace.
