Santos Alvarado

April 17, 1939 – November 7, 2024

Santos Alvarado, age 85, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2024, in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Born on April 17, 1939, in Salinas, Puerto Rico, Santos was a hardworking man whose hands were never idle. There was no job too small for him, as he believed in the value of staying busy and always keeping himself active.

Affectionately known as “El Gato,” Santos was a man with simple joys.   He delighted in the thrill of finding a good bargain at Goodwill, enjoyed indulging at buffets, and was never one to shy away from a little fun at the casino. His passion for music was evident in the way he played the guitar, bringing warmth and melody to the hearts of those who listened.

Santos is survived by his beloved children: Wilma (Oswaldo) Valentin, Vilma Miranda, Jose R. (Milagros Torres) Torres, and David Morales (Cristiana Goncalves). He was a proud grandfather to 14 grandchildren and cherished the presence of many great-grandchildren, who filled life with joy.  Today he joins his companion the Late Lillian Cruz who was by his side for years prior to her passing.

Santos' unwavering work ethic, sense of humor, and love for life will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends as they celebrate a life well-lived.

Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, November 14, 2024, from 6-8 PM at the Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport, CT 06608.

Funeral service will take place on Thursday, Wednesday, November 15, 2024, beginning at 9:15 A.M. followed by interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford, CT.
