Santos D. Ortiz was a man whose presence could instantly light up a room. Born in the beautiful city of Ponce, Puerto Rico, Santos carried his love for his hometown proudly in his heart throughout his life. Wherever he went, laughter followed—he was truly the life of the party, always ready with a smile, a story, or a friendly game of dominoes.
Santos had a deep appreciation for music, especially merengue, bachata, and "Authentic Island Jibaro Music" ,which often set the rhythm for gatherings filled with family, friends, and joy. Family meant everything to him, and some of his happiest moments were spent surrounded by loved ones, sharing food, music, and memories.
An avid traveler, Santos cherished every opportunity to return to Puerto Rico. His love for exploring the world also took him to places that held a special place in his heart, including Israel and Cuba—journeys that enriched his life and stories he shared with enthusiasm.
He was the beloved husband of Maria Ortiz and a devoted father to Daniel Santos Ortiz, Migdalia DeJesus (Carlos), and Jessica Michaca (Argenis Figueroa). Santos was also a loving brother to Marta, Madeline, Daisy, Gladys, Luisa, and Gustavo. He reunites with siblings Hayde, Milagros, Carlos, Ramon and Mario. Santos leaves behind a beautiful legacy through his 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends who will forever cherish his warmth, humor, and larger-than-life spirit. He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Carlos Velasquez and Petra Soba.

Interment: To follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull, CT
Santos D. Ortiz will be remembered for his joyful spirit, his deep love for family, and the happiness he brought wherever life took him. His legacy lives on in every laugh shared, every song played, and every story told in his honor.
