Saul Cruz, a beloved participant of the Kennedy Collective, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025, in Derby, Connecticut. Born on July 2, 1952, in Cayey, Puerto Rico, Saul lived a life filled with laughter, kindness, and an unyielding spirit. His unique personality was characterized by his funny, gentle, lovable, mischievous, and kind soul that endeared him to everyone who crossed his path.

Saul was not defined by his limitations; instead, he embraced life with a courageous heart and lived it to the fullest, inspiring those privileged enough to know him. People were drawn to his warmth and infectious joy, finding solace in his presence and companionship. His love for listening to music, particularly Spanish tunes, filled his days with rhythm and melody. Saul cherished indulging in traditional Puerto Rican cuisine and found great joy in savoring a good cup of coffee. He also relished the simplicity and beauty of nature, often enjoying leisurely walks along the beach.

Saul leaves behind his cherished father, Miguel Torres, as well as his siblings, Ruth Evelyn Rodriguez, Yolanda Torres, Jose Torres, Maria Robles and Victor Cabello as well as many nieces and nephews who will forever hold him close in their hearts. Although he is now reunited with his beloved mother, Flora Cruz, and his siblings Juan Antonio Reyes, Raul Reyes, and Rosamaria Nieves, whose spirits continue to guide and watch over him, Saul's legacy will live on through the countless memories shared by family and friends.

The family is eternally grateful to the staff members of Old Hill Road group home especially Sandy, Gahar and Liz for the outstanding and compassionate care they provided to Saul.  You are forever in their prayers.

A viewing to honor Saul’s life will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Funeraria Luz De Paz, located at 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport, CT 06608. Friends, family, and all whose lives were touched by Saul are invited to come together to celebrate the beautiful person he was.

Saul Cruz was a ray of sunshine, a gentle soul who brought laughter and joy into the lives of others. His spirit will always remain with us, an everlasting reminder of the love and happiness he shared so freely.  Heavan has a new angel to watch over us.
