Silvia E. Rodriguez

Silvia E. Rodriguez, age 64, beloved wife of Luis E. Rodriguez, of Bridgeport has passed away into the Presence of the Lord on January 27, 2022 in St. Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport, CT.  Silvia is the daughter of the late William Acosta Soler and the late Maria M.Rivera.  Born in San German, Puerto Rico, she had relocated to the local area many years ago and has resided here since.  

Silvia worked as a hostess with Cumberland Farms while her health permitted.  She was a very happy person who was friendly and caring to all.  She was a generous person who gave freely of her time to Bridge House and volunteered with after-school programs.  She was a talented cook who took pride in making her own sofrito that seasoned all her dishes. She could often be heard listening to music especially Selena and her all-time favorite Usher. 

In addition to her husband, Silvia is survived by her daughter Ligiajelena E. Rodriguez and her husband Ricky Upchurch of Waterbury, CT.  Her grandchildren Aaliyah Rodriguez, Alijah Rodriguez, Willie T. Sanders, Jr., Ligiajelena Rodriguez Sanders, and Terryana T. Sanders.  Her great-grandson Seth Luis Vega, Jr. and another one on the way. Her siblings Miriam Acosta, Rachel Acosta Rivera, Iluminada A. Ythier and Wilma Carmona.

Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Saturday, February 5, 2022,  beginning at 8:30 A.M.-11:30 A.M. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz, (Peaceful Light Funeral Home), 426 E. Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT.

Final disposition will take place immediately after in the Lakeview Cemetery, 885 Boston Avenue, Bridgeport, CT.
