Steven Diaz, Jr.

June 20, 2002 — May 4, 2024

Bridgeport

Steven Diaz, Jr., age 21,  a young man who left us far too soon leaving an indelible mark on our hearts departed on Saturday, May 4, 2024, when he embarked on his next great adventure, joining the celestial party up above, much to the delight of the almighty God.

Steven, a true Bridgeport native through and through, could be found many times with a baseball glove in one hand and a smile on his face. He didn't just play the game; he was a coach and mentor to the next generation of sluggers, imparting his love for the sport with infectious enthusiasm. And let's not forget his passion for cars, shared with a circle of friends who were just as revved up about horsepower and torque as he was.

If you ever had the pleasure of sharing a conversation with Steven, you knew you were in for an unfiltered dose of truth, sprinkled with a hint of sass that only added to his charm. Let's not get started on his love affair with Ramen Noodles—let's just say he had a special bond with those noodles that transcended the occasional craving.

Despite the curveballs life threw his way, Steven faced them head-on with a tenacity that inspired all who knew him. His light may have dimmed here on earth, but the glow of his spirit will continue to illuminate our lives for years to come.

Steven's family tree is adorned with love and memories, with Steven himself as its shining star. He leaves behind a legacy of love as the son of Steven Diaz and Elizabeth Huertas-Davila (Jessica Davila), the cherished brother of Noah Irizarry, Isaiah (Krystal) Irizarry, and Squirt Davila, the forever buddy of Euro Diaz, and the beloved boyfriend of Mikayla Bonilla. He was also the grandchild of Diluvana Maldonado, Rubencio Huertas, and late grandparents Abimael Diaz Sr. and Gloria Diaz-Perez, he leaves behind a multitude of adoring aunts, uncles, relatives, and friends who will hold him close in their hearts forevermore.

Friends are invited to attend calling hours to be held at the Funeraria Luz de Paz, (Paceful Light Funeral Home), 426 E. Washington Avenue on Friday, May 10, 2024, from 6-8 P.M.

Funeral Services are to be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024 beginning at 9:00 A.M. at the Funeral Home followed by interment in the St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford, CT.
