Tomas Alicea, a joyful and free spirit, was born on May 23, 1991, on the beautiful island of Puerto Rico in Rio Piedras. He blessed this world with his presence until his untimely passing due to his battle with cancer, on May 3, 2025, but not before a reconciliation with the Lord. Leaving behind a legacy rich in laughter, love, and beautiful memories.
Tomas dedicated much of his professional life as a factory worker in the manufacturing industry, where his dependable nature was a beacon of support for his colleagues. He embraced every challenge with an open heart, infusing joy into the fabric of his surroundings through his quick wit and jovial sense of humor. Those who worked alongside him will fondly recall his ability to lighten even the heaviest of tasks with a well-timed joke or playful banter.
His proudest accomplishment and greatest joy came in the form of his beloved son, Jayden. To Tomas, being a father was not merely a role but a profound milestone that shaped his identity. The bond they shared was a testament to his deep love and devotion, elements that defined him beyond his years. Together, they experienced countless moments of joy, filled with laughter, singing, and whatever adventures came their way.
Tomas had a passion for working on cars, a hobby that he wholeheartedly embraced. It was in the company of his brothers and friends that he truly flourished, playing basketball and celebrating life with the people he cherished the most. He had an infectious energy; whether singing and dancing or engaging in heartfelt conversations, he left a permanent mark on those around him.
He is survived by his beloved family, including his father, Tomas Alicea Jr., his mother, Evelyn Alicea, and his son, Jayden. He was further surrounded by the unwavering love of his siblings: Hector, Frances, Katiria, Angel L., Marjorie, Celine, Vickye, and Moises. The bond they shared as siblings was simply irreplaceable and will forever be treasured in their hearts. Tomas will also be lovingly remembered by his grandfather, whose guidance and wisdom were a source of strength throughout his life.
As we gather to honor his memory, we invite all who knew him to come together at Funeraria Luz De Paz in Bridgeport, CT, on Thursday, May 15, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM for a viewing. Following this, a burial service will take place at Park Cemetery Association at 12:30 PM.
Tomas Alicea’s light may have dimmed on this earth, but the memories he created will forever illuminate the hearts of those who were privileged to know him. He enriched our lives with his smile, laughter, and unwavering spirit, and while he may have left us, his joyful essence will continue to resonate through the smiles of his son and the stories shared among friends and family.
