Tomasa Sanchez

In loving memory of Tomasa Sanchez, a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend who passed away at her residence in Blythe, GA. Born in Aguas Buenas, Puerto Rico, on October 1st, 1931.  She migrated to Bridgeport, CT in 1959 and resided there for 48 years.  Upon retirement she moved to Georgia where she spent her last 17 years and began her second career as a novice farmer in her new home.  Tomasa led a life filled with love, hard work, and dedication.  

Tomasa dedicated many years of her life working as a machine operator in the manufacturing industry. Her commitment to her work was admirable and inspiring to all who knew her. Her strong work ethic and attention to detail left a lasting impact on her colleagues and peers.  In her nurturing spirit she was born with a green thumb and tended to her bountiful garden.  She also took great pride in herding her goats. She was an avid traveler. Her greatest accomplishment was the loving manner in which she cared for her family, in particular the delicious meals that she prepared for them.

She was a beloved mother to Angel and Miguel Sanchez and is survived by her daughters Yolanda Garcia-Martinez and her husband Julio, Magdalena Rodriguez and her husband Ruben, Vanessa Dinatale Sanchez, and Maria Kennebrew. Tomasa's family was at the center of her world, and she cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren.  She is predeceased by her spouse, Gabriel and grandson Angel.

Among those left to honor her memory are her 21 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren, 8 great- great grandchildren and 2 pending great-great-grandchildren. Tomasa's love knew no bounds, and she took great joy in watching her family grow and thrive over the years.

Her presence will be deeply missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing her. A viewing service to celebrate Tomasa's life will be held at Funeraria Luz De Paz in Bridgeport, CT, on April 7th, 2024. The event will commence at 4:00 PM and conclude at 8:00 PM.

Tomasa Sanchez will forever be remembered for her kindness, strength, and unwavering love for her family. May she rest in peace knowing that she touched the hearts of many during her time on this earth.
