Tomasa Velazquez Rodriguez,
Tomasa Velazquez Rodríguez, aged 98 and a half, beloved widow of the late Ramón Velazquez, passed away on September 26, 2022 in her home while surrounded by those she loved. Tomasa was born in Humacao, Puerto Rico to the late Santiago Rodríguez and the late Juana Peña. She relocated to the mainland United States at a young age and resided here since. She was a member of St. Peter’s Parish for many years and her love to the Lord was evident in her daily life to all those who surrounded her.
She is survived by her daughters, Myrna Torres and her husband Aaron, and Myrta Lizasuain and her husband Felix, by her loving grandchildren, Aaron Jonathan Torres, Anthony Torres, John Torres, Elyse Torres Barrett, Luis Lizasuain and Armando Lizasuain, by her six great grandchildren and by a host of other relatives and friends who will forever miss her gentle and unforgettable love.
Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Sunday, October 2, 2022 from 12:30 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. at Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 E. Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT 06608. Friends may gather on Monday, October 3, 2022, at 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home followed by a Mass to be held at St. Peter Church, 695 Colorado Avenue, Bridgeport, CT, 06605 at 12:30 P.M. The final disposition will be held privately at the request of the family.
