Virginia Laureano

Virginia Laureano, age 85, of Bridgeport has passed into the presence of the Lord on Friday, April 1, 2022 in Bridgeport Hospital, Bridgeport, CT. Virginia was born in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico to the late Felipe Laureano and the late Sofia Tirado, but had relocated to the Bridgeport, CT area many years ago and has resided here since.  Virginia was a beautiful woman with a heart of Gold.  Her sense of humor and joyful stories, lit up a room wherever she went.  She was a spectacular cook and nothing gave her more satisfaction than being with her family as they shared what she had cooked and savored every spoonful.  Although Virginia had relocated to the United States Mainland long ago, she never managed to grasp the English language, yet that never stopped her from getting things done, going places, or accomplishing whatever she wanted to get done.  Many of those who knew her were baffled at how she did so much considering the language barrier.  Evidently, her graceful personality created an atmosphere wherever she went that allowed her to connect way beyond what words could ever, and that would be an example to many today.

Virginia is survived by her children Angel Vazquez and his spouse Carlotta, Luis Fernando Vazquez, Eliseo Vazquez, Rafael Motta, Zulma Vazquez, Evelyn Alvarez and Omayra Motta.  Her siblings Susana Laureano, Francisco Laureano and Felix Laureano.  Her 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will dearly miss her.  She was preceded in death by her siblings the late Carmen Laureano, the late Angela Flores, and the late Angel L. Laureano.

Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, April 7, 2022, from 5-8 P.M. At the Funeraria Luz de Paz, (Peaceful Light Funeral Home), 426 E. Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT. 

Funeral Services are scheduled for Friday, April 8, 2022 beginning at 10:00 A.M. at the Funeral Home followed by interment in the Mt. Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport, CT.
