Virginia Reyes

Virginia Reyes, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2025, in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Born on March 1, 1945, in Utuado, Puerto Rico, Virginia dedicated her life to her family and serving the Lord, embodying the essence of a hardworking spirit in the manufacturing industry.

Her personality was a blend of assertiveness, caring nature, and nurturing warmth. Virginia was not merely a worker; she was a pillar of strength who balanced her dedication to her profession with an unwavering commitment to her loved ones. As a devout Catholic, she humbly served the Lord with all her heart, instilling in her family the values of faith and kindness.

Virginia found immense joy in spending time with her grandchildren—Ricky, Vicky, Diana,  Joshabel, Joel and all her great grandchildren whom she loved very much. They were her pride and joy, her greatest love, and her legacy of affection will forever resonate in their lives. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her own family; she cherished her role as a mother to her children, Marilyn Medina, Viviana Garcia, Luis Rivera, and Maria Rivera, who carry forward the lessons and love she imparted.

In her community, Virginia was known for her prolific gardening skills and her passionate love for the sea. Whether tending to her vibrant plants or basking in the beauty of coastal landscapes, she embraced life with exuberance. She relished her trips back to her homeland in Puerto Rico, where her roots lay deep, and where she formed many cherished memories.

An active member of St. Charles Church, Virginia’s faith complemented her actions; she led by example, demonstrating a life filled with service, love, and compassion. Her gentle spirit will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.  She loved the Lord and praised his name.

Virginia is survived by her loving children and grandchildren, as well as her siblings, Carmen Medina, Violeta Reyes, and Juan Torres, who will continue to honor her memory. She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Oramio Reyes and Emilia Medina, whose guiding influence shaped Virginia into the remarkable person she was.

Friends and family are invited to share in a viewing celebrating Virginia's life on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Funeraria Luz De Paz, located at 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport, CT 06608. Together, we unite in mourning the loss of a remarkable woman who touched countless lives with her love, faith, and resilience.
