Wendy Rodriguez, 46, of Bridgeport, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026, at Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut.

Wendy was born on May 29, 1979, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, the beloved daughter of the late Erasto Rodriguez and Hortencia Cabrera of Bridgeport. She was raised in Bridgeport, where she attended Bridgeport Public Schools and later graduated from Harding High School.

Wendy went on to work as a medical assistant, dedicating herself to helping others and providing care to those in need. She will be remembered for her loving heart, her strength, and the deep love she carried for her family. Above all, Wendy was a devoted mother whose children were the center of her world.

She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved daughter, Dazahnik Melendez; her son, Jacob Mercado; her mother, Hortencia Cabrera Rodriguez; her Dad Juan B. Rodriguez; her siblings, Denise Rodriguez and Juan Rodriguez; her stepmother, Aurea Maldonado; her father Erasto Rodriguez; her stepsister, Nilda Torres; her step-niece, Crystal Bonilla, along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply.

Family and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Friday, March 13, 2026, beginning at 10:00 AM at Funeraria Luz de Paz. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home at 12:30 PM.

Following the service, the funeral procession will proceed to the cemetery with an approximate arrival time of 1:45 PM.

Wendy’s love and legacy will remain in the hearts of her family forever.
