Wendy Rodriguez

Wendy was born on May 29, 1979, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, the beloved daughter of Hortencia Cabrera and Erasto Rodriguez. She was raised in Bridgeport, where she attended Bridgeport Public Schools and later graduated from Harding High School.

Wendy went on to work as a medical assistant, dedicating herself to helping others and providing care to those in need. She will be remembered for her loving heart, her strength, and the deep love she carried for her family. Above all, Wendy was a devoted mother whose children were the center of her world.

She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved daughter, Dazahnik Melendez; her son, Jacob Mercado; her mother, Hortencia Cabrera Rodriguez; her Dad Juan B. Rodriguez; her sister, Denise Rodriguez; her brother in law, Juan Valentin; her brother, Juan Rodriguez Jr; her sister in law, Jazzette Ramirez; her niece, Myah Valentin; her niece Zoraya Rodriguez; her niece, Kyndall Lanham; her nephew, Juan Abel Valentin; her nephew, Xzavier Valentin; her father, Erasto Rodriguez; her stepmother Aurea Maldonado; her stepsister, Nilda Torres; her step-niece, Crystal Bonilla; along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply.

A celebration of Wendy's life will take place on Friday, March 13, 2026, from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM at Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 East Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT.  Interment will follow immediately afterwards at Mt. Grove Easton Cemetery, 100 Harvester Road, Easton, CT..
