William Gonzalez

William "Willie" Gonzalez, 69, returned to the loving arms of the Lord on January 25, 2023, in DeBary, FL.  He was born in Bridgeport, CT to the late Francisco and Virginia Gonzalez.  

Willie was the co-owner of Gonzalez's Grocery, along with his brother Edwin, for nearly 30 years.  He is a graduate of Bullard Haven Vocational High School in Bridgeport, where he obtained his certification in masonry.  He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed gambling on football.  

Willie leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving son William Gonzalez Jr.; his loyal brothers Francisco Gonzalez Jr (Migdalia), Wilfredo Gonzalez (Carmen), Edwin Gonzalez (Elizabeth) Richard Gonzalez (Marylou) and David Gonzalez (Virgen); 10 nieces and 9 nephews and a host of friends and relatives that will miss him dearly.  

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, February 5, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Monday, February 6, 2023, at 10:30 AM at Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 East Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT.  A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 6, 2023, at 12:00 noon at St. Mary's Church, 25 Sherman Street, Bridgeport, CT.  Interment will follow immediately after at Mt. Grove Cemetery, 2675 North Avenue, Bridgeport, CT.
